Theatre Cambrian introduces The Songs of Summer Music Festival

Theatre Cambrian’s Executive Director, Mark Mannisto, announced today the inception of a new component to the theatre’s season, the Songs of Summer Music Festival.  “We have been working more and more with Northern artists over the past 30 years, and we have determined that the time is now to branch out and showcase some of our local musicians from across the North,” states Mannisto.   “Spotlighting Northern artists is just another facet of Theatre Cambrian’s outreach allowing our venue to become more arts inclusive” he adds.

The Songs of Summer Music Festival will spotlight over sixteen different performing artists from across Northern Ontario throughout the weekend of June 27-29.   Festival coordinator, Shawn Bailey, has put extra emphasis on the Northern Ontario aspect of the Festival.   All artists featured are from across the North.  The Songs of Summer Music Festival will also feature Northern Ontario craft breweries.   All crafters and artisans in attendance will be from across the North.    Musicians confirmed for the festival include: No Sugs, Anxiety, The Sudbury Guitar Trio, Snowtown Revival, The Blues Brothers and more.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
