Sudbury, September 23, 2014 –   The municipal election is in full swing, and meeting your candidates in person can be a big part of making your decision as a voter.

Come out to Greater Sudbury’s Good Green Town Hall, Wednesday, October 1, at St. Andrews Place (111 Larch St., downtown).

Meet and greet with Council candidates 6:00 p.m.  Come meet your candidates and tell them what’s important to you.

Mayoral Town Hall 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Bring your questions for mayoral candidates and hear what they have to say.

All mayoral candidates have confirmed their attendance to answer questions from the public.

Thirty-two ward candidates have also confirmed to date.

“The Good Green Town Hall epitomizes citizen engagement directly into the political process.  I am so excited to bring people together again in this way,” said Cathy Orlando, event organizer and Good Green Town Hall co-founder.

This is your chance to talk with your candidates and ask your questions around green issues, climate change, citizen engagement, and other issues of importance to you.

Citizens are invited to view candidates’ written responses to survey questions on these topics at sudburycandidates.ca.

“We look forward to people’s questions, and to hearing candidates’ replies,” said Naomi Grant, event organizer and chair of Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury.

This event is hosted by Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury, Citizens Climate Lobby Sudbury, and reThink Green.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
