On Saturday, Oct. 25 Inzira y'Urumuri (Chemin de la lumière in French) is hosting a fundraising banquet at Macdonald-Cartier secondary school on Lasalle Blvd. in order to raise money for the primary school they're building in rural Rwanda. They would appreciate your help in raising awareness of this worthy cause by covering it in advance and adding it to your community calendars.

Tickets cost $25 for adults and $10 for children. Doors open at 5 p.m. Marie and Ignatius Ntaganda are the primary contact people for Chemin. You may reach them at chemindelalumiererw@gmail.com or 705-923-0807. Please find attached a poster with full details.

So far, this grassroots organization has raised $24,000 of the $30,000 they need to begin building the school in Rwanda. They're so close that a successful banquet could launch the next phase of the project - the construction of a primary school.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
