PUBLIC MEETING FOR A NEW MID-WEEK FARMERS MARKET TO BE HELD JANUARY 28TH, 2015

For Immediate Release

SUDBURY, ON- Downtown could get even friendlier this summer with your help. Wouldn’t it be great to have a mid-week farmers market to buy and sell fresh, local goods from our local farmers and vendors?

Eat Local Sudbury is holding a public meeting Wednesday January 28th at the Sudbury Public Library Main Branch on Mackenzie Street for local farmers, vendors, and other parties that are interested. There is a strong demand for a mid-week market for those that work downtown, and who may leave for camp on the weekends. The purpose is to develop a farmers market that is affordable for producers, accessible for customers and fun for all. This public meeting will help define the criteria’s, location, and what the market can be.

Farmers and vendors are invited come out and share your ideas! We cannot be more thrilled to support this important initiative for our community.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
