MEDIA RELEASE: Amatriciana: support earthquake relief in Central Italia

The Società Caruso Culture and Education Committee welcomes you to support earthquake relief in Central Italia
 
On August 24, 2016, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 struck central Italy, causing 298 deaths, hundreds of injured and thousands of displaced people. The Società Caruso is hosting a fundraising dinner for the victims of the earthquake on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 5:00 pm in theEnrico restaurant. The cost is $20 per person. Several Italian regional recipes will be served,including pasta all'amatriciana, a recipe that originated in the town of Amatrice, one of the most devastated towns by the earthquake. Dishes will include specialties from the Regions of Italy most affect by the Earthquake: Lazio, Marche and Umbria. Funds raised will be donated to the Italian Red Cross. Community members are encourage to contact Christine Sansalone and to follow the Società Caruso on Facebook and Instagram.

Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
