A Solstice Celebration
A community celebration to welcome the return of the sun.
 
Sudbury, ON - December 16, 2014 -- Join Myths and Mirrors Community Arts, Better Beginnings Better Futures and The SPOT Youth Centre in finding light in dark times and welcoming the return of the sun. A community solstice celebration will take place on Thursday December 18th 6:00 PM at O'Conor Park, 140 St George Street.
 
This family friendly evening will feature art-making, lantern lighting and a dessert social. Throughout December Myths and Mirrors has been working with community groups hosting workshops to make lanterns for this event. There will be a lantern making station set up and everyone is welcome to attend this celebration marking the change of the season and of the returning light.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
