Seniors Housing Information Seminar Planned for Sudbury

The local chapter of CARP (The Canadian Association or Retired Persons together with Friendly to Seniors – Sudbury and the Parkside (Older Adult Centre) will hold a Seniors Housing Information Seminar on Tuesday November 17th from 2.30 to 4.00 p.m. at the Parkside Centre 140 Durham Street in downtown Sudbury.

Affordable housing for Older Adults in Greater Sudbury has been identified as a major concern in surveys undertaken by both CARP and Friendly to Seniors and is the reason for arranging this event which will feature input from the Central Mortgage and Housing Corporation who are expected to reveal the challenges faced in providing accommodation for this growing segment of the population but will reveal what other communities have done to address the issue.

Invitations have gone out to local builders, city councilors and staff concerned and the session will be open to the public and in particular interested older adults.  The media will also be invited to attend.

No charge to attend and refreshments will be available.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
