Around eighty people attended Sudbury’s #HonourTheApology at noon today, as part of a day of national prayer and action “to honour the victims, survivors, and their families by bringing attention to the attempted suppression of Residential School documents by the Federal Government.”

Bruce McComber briefly spoke about the purpose of the event.  After prayer, a moment of silence, smudging and drumming, people took to the streets for a short march circling Tom Davies Square. Dancing and drumming were held at two major downtown intersections along the march route.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
