PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

For Immediate Release

May Rainbow ROUTES Hike Club

This month’s hike is a “Jane’s Walk.” “Jane’s Walk” is a celebration of people and cities taking place all around the world on the first weekend of May, to coincide with Jane Jacobs’ birthday. Through the simple act of walking together and discussing what makes a neighbourhood, Jane’s Walk helps knit people together into strong and resourceful communities.

Hike Club will be leaving from Bell Park and walking a historic route around the old city core. Guides will be available to share historic highlights enroute.

To participate in this FREE guided hike/tour on Saturday May 4th, join us at 9:45 a.m. at the Elizabeth Street entrance to Bell Park (506 Elizabeth St). The walk will be approximately two hours long.

Participants should wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing as our hikes run in all but the worst of weather.

For more information visit www.RainbowRoutes.com or call the Hike Club Hotline at 705-674-4455 x 2474. To receive updates on upcoming next hikes, email Samantha Baulch at samantha.baulch@sudbury.ca and join the mailing list.

If this walk needs to be cancelled, a message will be left on the Hike Club Hotline before 9am the day of the hike.

See you on the trails!

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
