Spring 2013
Nepewassi Lake Association Members

AGM NOTICE:

We are having our Annual General Meeting on Saturday June 8th, 2013 at 10:30 am. The location will again be the new fire hall at the corner of Nelson Road and Estaire Road. We are pleased to announce that we have a guest speaker coming. His name is Rob Davis and he is the owner of EcoEthic Products in Sunderland Ontario. Some of you may recognize the company name as we have promoted their products in the past. Rob is also a qualified shoreline expert and works with many lake associations in his area. He will be doing a three day seminar at Cottage Life Show this spring regarding safe lake practices. We are fortunate to have him coming for our meeting and hope that you will all attend. This is a great opportunity for you to get information and answers to any questions you may have about protecting our lake and surrounding wetlands. He is also very well versed in helping us identify safe products to use in our daily living around water. The topic of his discussion will focus on “Septic Smarts”, and ways for us to stop the nutrients that are feeding the BlueGreen Algae in our lake.

RE: 2013 Membership dues

We have put another winter behind us and are now thinking ahead to spring and summer at the lake. You will be sent a letter by mail including a membership card and a pre-addressed return envelope. Please fill this card out and return it to us as soon as possible. To make it simpler for you please fill in only information that has changed since last year. The membership fee for the year remains at $25.00. Donations above that amount are always appreciated. Please make your cheque payable to the Nepewassi Lake Assoc. Inc.

Especially important information for us to have is an email address. Some of our members have arranged for contact information with a friend, neighbour or family member. We do not send many emails but we are all relying more on this for communication now. Email is the best way to share information with you quickly. If you do not want us to use email, please indicate that when you return your membership dues. If you have changed your email address, please ensure we have your new address.

If you need more information you can contact us at nepewassilake@gmail.com or call Sue at 705 692 9564 or Colleen at 705 222 2192.

We thank you for your continued support in our efforts to “ Protect, Preserve and Enhance” our lake.

Looking forward to meeting you all at the June AGM!

Best Regards,

Sue Bertrand &
Colleen Fraser

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us.
