20th Anniversary

Thanksgiving Walk in the Oak Forest - Oct. 14th – 2.00 p.m.

The annual Fall Colours walk in the Oak Forest Lookout Park will take place, weather permitting, this Thanksgiving Monday at 2.00 p.m. from the lakefront at Minnow Lake Place (1127 Bancroft Drive).  This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the hike up into the Oak Forest overlooking both Minnow Lake and Lake Ramsey.  It will be an opportunity to see how much growth has taken place with trees planted over the years as well as the leaves turning colour.  The walk which is free and suitable for all ages and with dogs welcome (on leach) will be guided by members of the Minnow Lake Restoration Group and Community Action Network.  Rubber soled shoes are recommended, plus a warm sweater or jacket if the weather is cool. Also bring along camera and binoculars.  The walk will not take place if it rains.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
