Press Release

For immediate release: October 14, 2014

Meet your candidates and ask your questions at the Ward 8 CAN Municipal Candidates Meeting

You are invited to the Ward 8 Community Action Network’s meeting, Wednesday, October 22, 7 p.m. in the Lecture Theatre at Lasalle Secondary School (1545 Kennedy St., Sudbury).

Come meet your candidates and tell them what’s important to you. Bring your questions!

All Ward 8 candidates have confirmed their attendance.

A moderator will be coordinating the meeting. Three general questions designed by the Ward 8 CAN Executive Committee will be asked at the beginning of the meeting, followed by questions gathered from the audience. An opportunity to speak directly to candidates will follow the question and answer period.

Ward 8 School Board Trustee candidates are also invited to attend in order to meet and speak to Ward 8 residents.

“This is your opportunity to find out what all five candidates feel about the issues that are important to you, to the Ward, and to Greater Sudbury,” said Rachelle Niemela, Chair of the Ward 8 CAN.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and refreshments will be served.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
