According to the City website, “Public transportation services contribute to the social and ecological health of our community by removing geographic barriers to employment and social services opportunities and by reducing the environmental and infrastructure costs of transportation.” Transit is so important we need to get it right.
“As Sudbury Transit is currently evaluating the data collected on bus usage, we felt it was the perfect time to ask for public input on where new routes & hubs should be added, and which schedules should be adjusted. Transit riders know the ins and outs of the transit system, so we’re looking for their suggestions on how to improve services,” said Lilly Noble, Co-Chair of Friends of Sudbury Transit.
For those who can’t attend the sessions, there’s still an opportunity to provide input by filling out the online survey located on the website friendsofsudburytransit.ca. All of the data collected will be shared with Sudbury Transit and will hopefully result in services that better address the transportation needs of all Sudburians.
Friends of Sudbury Transit is a grassroots community group working to improve transit.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
