Love Letters From Elvis – Lions Club Fundraiser
Lions International is the world’s largest volunteer non-profit organization. Valley East Lions are dedicated to helping the citizens of the Greater Sudbury Area. Funds raised are used to help with food banks and health related requests for assistance. Funds are also used for sponsorships and scholarships.
In 1925, Helen Keller challenged the Lions to become "The Knights of the Blind" in the crusade against darkness and to that end their mission is on stamping out blindness worldwide.
One of their fundraising events takes place this year on Valentine’s Day with a Dinner/Dance and live show. It will be held at the Centennial Arena in Hanmer.
Cocktails are at 6pm, dinner begins at 7pm and live entertainment at 8:30pm.
“Love Letters from Elvis” is a tribute show, with entertainment provided by Norm Ackland Jr., winner of the Elvis Tribute Gospel contest in Collingwood in 2013, and his son Jax Ackland, who won 2nd place in the Youth division in 2013, also in Collingwood.
Jax is a 3rd generation Elvis Tribute Artist and although young, he does an incredible job performing, mirroring Elvis’ moves from his performances. The Acklands are from Windsor, Ontario.
This promises to be an incredible evening that any Elvis fan won't want to miss!
Tickets can be purchase online at www.eventbrite.com "Love Letters From Elvis", or by calling 705-822-3556 and speaking to Sonja. Tickets are $50.00 each, which includes the meal, entertainment and door prizes.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
