Shining a light on youth homelessness
SUDBURY – George Stephen spent 20 years living on the streets of Northern Ontario.
The Aboriginal man’s journey in and out of homelessness is chronicled in the documentary film A Will to Live, which will be screened at Cambrian College on February 24.
Cambrian’s Wabnode Centre for Aboriginal Services invites students and members of the public to attend the screening. A panel of homeless experts and frontline workers, as well as George Stephen, will participate in a question and answer period after the screening.
Refreshments will be provided.
The panel includes:
- Olivia Parry – homelessness and housing support worker, N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre
- George Stephen
- Anna Harbulik – Sudbury Coalition Against Poverty (S-CAP)
- Paul Scheer – Cecil Facer Youth Centre
- Josh Wong – volunteer, collects and donates clothing for homeless people
When: Tuesday, February 24, 1:30 to 3 p.m.
