MEDIA RELEASE: The Ward 8 CAN Wants You to Identify Ward 8 Snow Angels!

Blog posts reflect the views of their authors.

Sudbury, March 6, 2017 – The Ward 8 Community Action Network is looking for snow angels who help their neighbours and our community in clearing snow during the winter.

Do you know someone who helps to keep a path or trail entrance clear? Someone who helps dig out your car after a nasty snowstorm? Someone who helps you to help keep your driveway clear? Someone who clears a bus stop that is not cleared by the City?

If there’s a neighbour, friend or family member who makes your winter easier, we want you to nominate them as a Ward 8 Snow Angel.

“The Ward 8 CAN is very proud of the residents who care about the people living in our ward. We want to acknowledge those people who go the extra mile to help their neighbours who otherwise would have difficulty in keeping their driveways clear, or accessing a path or trail, or standing safely at a bus stop.” said Rachelle Niemela, Chair of the Ward 8 CAN.

All of the nominee’s names will be entered into a draw for a $100 gift card. The draw will be held April 1, 2017.

Their names, along with the names of the individuals who nominate them, will also be posted on the CAN’s Snow Angel page on the ward8sudbury.ca website and in CAN Facebook and Twitter communications. The CAN will ensure that it has permission from all individuals to post personal information.

You can nominate your Snow Angel at http://ward8sudbury.ca/snow-angels/.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
