Myths and Mirrors Hosts 12-Hour Dance Party
5th Annual Dance-a-thon Supports Art and Community
SUDBURY, ON – Myths and Mirrors is thrilled to announce their 5th annual Dance-a-thon fundraiser, taking place Saturday, May 27th at la Fromagerie from 3PM to 3AM. The 12-hour dance party is one of Myths and Mirrors’ most anticipated events and helps kick off an exciting summer season of Myths and Mirrors programming.
“This event is all about stepping up – and stepping out – to help support free, inclusive arts programming in our community,” says Myths and Mirrors’ Artistic Director, Jesse Brady. “This is the Dance-a-thon’s fifth year so we’re really hoping to raise the bar. We’re launching a little earlier this year to give participants plenty of time to get involved and get those pledges in.”
This year’s theme is ‘Music Icons’ and participants are invited to come dressed as their favourite performer – from Bowie to Beyoncé. Guest DJs will spin a mix of new and classic tunes that are sure to keep you moving and prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed, Top Pledge Earner, and more. This year the Dance-a-thon will start a little earlier than in previous years to give families an opportunity to strut their stuff and there will be plenty of family-friendly activities to help keep the young (and young at heart) entertained.
If you’d like to get involved, go to www.raiseathon.ca/mythsdance to register as an individual or team and start collecting pledges today. All proceeds help support Myths and Mirrors Community Arts in offering exceptional, inclusive art experiences throughout our community.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
