A HELPING HAND TO YOUNG MOTHERS JUST IN TIME FOR MOTHER’S DAY

 

Sudbury, April 11, 2017 : The Clubs Richelieu of the Mid-North are collaborating with local agencies to help young mothers and their babies, by organizing a second « playpen campaign » for the purpose of collecting baby products. Playpens will be installed in different businesses in the Greater Sudbury area, in Sturgeon Falls and in the municipality of French River, from Monday, April 17 to Sunday, May 7, 2016.

 

The agencies receiving the donated items are Better Beginnings, Better Futures, namely the Baby’s Breath program, in Sudbury, the Centre de santé communautaire de Nipissing Ouest in Sturgeon Falls and the Sudbury-Est Community Health Centre in French River. Last year, more than 1000 items and close to $2500 was collected in the participating communities.

 

In Sudbury, the businesses where the playpens will be displayed are the grocers YIG in Chelmsford and Hanmer, the grocers Metro in Chelmsford and Val Caron, Village International on Durham Street, House of Bras on Lasalle boulevard, Lifemax Gym on Bouchard Street, and Advantage Physio on Lasalle Boulevard. In Sturgeon Falls, the playpen will be at the department store Michaud & Lévesque on Main Street. In French River, the playpens will be at Sudbury-East Community Health Centre in Noelville and at the Nurse-practitioner- led Clinic in Alban.

 

The clubs Richelieu taking part in this second campaign centered around Mother’s Day are : the Club Richelieu Sudbury, the Club Richelieu Féminin de Sudbury, the Club Richelieu de la Vallée, the Club Richelieu Sturgeon Falls and the Club Richelieu Rivière-des- Français, representing more than 200 Richelieu members.
