16th annual African Cabaret
SUDBURY — Le Contact interculturel francophone de Sudbury (CIFS) and its partners invite you to the 16th annual African Cabaret. The event will take place at Macdonald-Cartier Secondary School (37 Lasalle Boulevard West) at 6 p.m. on Saturday November 2, 2013.
As usual, the African Cabaret will be full of surprises ... surprises with an African twist.
This year, the Cabaret is heading to the Democratic Republic of Congo, with Moto and his orchestra. This group will certainly fascinate and get you movin’.
The mysterious name, Moto, hides an artist from the Kasaï region in the heart of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is a complete artist, a composer, singer and player of Ngoma, a type of percussion instrument resembling a Djembé but fully upright. On stage, the musicians are accompanied by dancers displaying boundless energy.
Moto is a breath of sunshine and revitalizing energy.
An African-themed supper and fashion show will top off the event. A DJ will also be there to keep the party going with dance music from here and elsewhere!
Don’t miss out on the biggest and best African Festival in Sudbury!
For more information or for reservation, contact the CIFS at 705-670-8105 or by e-mail at cifs@cifs.ca.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
