Improving health and wellness focus of annual health fair
SUDBURY – Health promotion will be the focus of the annual health fair that Cambrian College’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) students and faculty will host on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
The Cambrian team will set up 20 booths in the Rainbow Centre to provide the public with information about a variety of health-related topics and to promote healthy lifestyle choices. The annual fair enables second-year students in Cambrian’s BScN program to share their skills and knowledge, and to take part in a learning experience outside of the classroom that provides hands-on résumé-building experience, which benefits the students, as well as the community.
The health fair is also an opportunity for those interested in a career in the health sciences to find out more about Cambrian’s programs, and to ask questions about the application process and about Cambrian’s many services and supports for students.
About the Collaborative BScN program
Cambrian College’s four-year nursing program leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Laurentian University and is part of a broader collaborative program with Sault College, Northern College and St. Lawrence College. Students in the program prepare for careers in a variety of health care settings through course work, theoretical studies, and the practice of nursing. Clinical experiences in hospitals, in the community and with health care agencies enable students to put into practice the knowledge and skills learned in class.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
