CAN Opportunity Meeting - Second Avenue Concerns
If you had the opportunity to help save lives, reduce accidents and injuries, while impoving water and air quality in our city, we sincerely believe that you would certainly want to do so.
Responding to our role and responsibility as a Community Action Network on behalf of the Sudbury Healthy Community Strategy “to advocate for positive change and betterment of the community” we have taken this opportunity with respect to the Second Avenue Road Reconstruction Project.
Our proposal for a modern roundabout for Second Avenue, as a new intersection for Scarlet Drive and entrance to the Cemetery and Dog Park, would have multiple benefits, including the reduction of water and air pollution, fewer accidents and injuries compared to a traditional signaled intersection, lower speeds, less noise and be more attractive.
At two public meetings July 15th and August 14th the Minnow Lake CAN and Restoration Group supported by the Greater Sudbury Watershed Alliance and others, will present information on this opportunity and how it can be realized while saving taxpayer dollars.
We invite your attendance to learn more how this proposal will improve the quality of life for all local residents and other citizens, now and into the future. The meetings will take place at the Canadian Legion Branch 76 on Weller Street in Minnow Lake at 7.00 p.m. The Legion is air conditioned and refreshments are available.
See attached CAN newsletter and more information is available at www.minnowlake.ca.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
