The Big Nickel, one of Northern Ontario's most famous landmarks, is turning 50 this year. So the good folks of Sudbury are throwing a huge celebration with FREE outdoor entertainment and a slew of all-ages activities on Tuesday, July 22.
As fits the bill, country music rules and among the stellar performers on show is Sudbury’s rising star Mike Trudell. Billed as “A Northern Star With A Southern Shine,” Mike Trudell has his roots and musical
style planted firmly in the North, being born in Elliot Lake and a resident of Sudbury, ON. With the recent release of his new CD, entitled 'Do Ya Wanna' Mike Trudell shines with his offering of new
country music at it's best. www.miketrudellmusic.com Mike Trudel takes the stage at 5.15 and you don’t want to miss a second of the dynamic performer’s show. Expect lots of songs from 'Do Ya Wanna' and lots of dancing.
This will be extra special occasion for Mike, as he’ll be sharing a stage with roots country icon Fred Eaglesmith, who closes out the show with a set starting at 9 pm.
Come say happy birthday to the Big Nickel with live music, entertainment, activities, classic cars, face painting and more - it's a full-day family celebration not to be missed!
FREE for all ages! Bring your lawn chairs and spend the day.

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
