See you at Little Montreal's at 4:30

Mayor-Elect Brian Bigger will launch the Downtown Sudbury Arts Crawl from Little Montreal, 182 Elgin Street during a special “Arts after Five” event sponsored by the Sudbury Arts Council, according to Council President Linda Cartier.

We are honoured to have our new Mayor-elect Mr. Bigger take part in officially opening the event said Cartier, which will feature 20 visual arts hotspots all within walking distance downtown including the Art Gallery on John Street, The Open Studio, The Galerie du Nouvel-Ontario, Myths and Mirrors, Laurentian Architecture and fifteen others.  A complete listing will be available at the launch with addresses on a map provided and is also attached with this notice.

This is the second Art Crawl to take place, following the first last fall which was an outstanding success introducing local citizens and visitors to an eclectic variety of artistic experiences all in the downtown area of Greater Sudbury.   Promoting this event fulfills the Sudbury Arts Council mandate to connect, communicate and celebrate the Arts in the City, emphasized Cartier.

Those attending the Art Crawl opening at Little Montreal starting at 4.30 p.m. can enjoy snacks courtesy of the Art Council and meet board members of the Arts Council and Mayor-Elect Brian Bigger.  There is no charge and everyone interested in the Arts is welcome to attend and get ready to head out on the Art Crawl which will take place at the local venues until 8.00 p.m.

About the Sudbury Working Group

The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
